Torri del Benaco takes its name from two towers (torri) that, with the regular plant of the village, testify its roman origin like 'castrium turrium'.
Beyond the little harbour and the panorama, it cannot lack the Castle Scaligero (of the Della Scala family), built between 1383 and 1893 and discreetly conserved, inside there is a Ethnographic Museum, on the culture of the high Garda (fishing, olivetrees cultivation...) and a wonderful greenhouse of citruses dated back to 1760.
Those who love the art can appreciate the frescoes of the 15th century that adorns the inside of the church of Santissima Trinità. Equally valuable are the frescoes of the loggia of Ca' Turrini, in the square of the port, and in the Palace Mari.
It is a small town, but very characteristic of the lifestyle of the lake: Torri is the destination, today like centuries ago, of many tourists.
